Centralized vs Distributed Fault

چکیده
In this paper we compare the performance of fault localization schemes for communication networks. Our model assumes a number of management centers, each responsible for a logically autonomous part of the whole telecommunication network. We brieey present three different fault localization schemes: namely, \Centralized", \Decentralized" and \Distributed" fault localization, and, we compare their performance with respect to the computational eeort each requires and the accuracy of the solution that each provides.

Redirection Algorithms for Load Sharing in Distributed Web-server Systems
Replication of information among multiple Web servers is necessary to support high request rates to popular Web sites. A clustered Web-server organization is preferable to multiple independent mirrored-servers because it maintains a single interface to the users and has the potential to be more scalable, fault-tolerant and better load balanced. In this paper we propose a Web cluster architectur...
متن کاملFault Recovery in Distributed Processing Loop Networks
A graph model is introduced to formalize the fault recovery process in distributed loop networks. This model is applicable to centralized as well as distributed recovery. Key fault tolerance and recovery parameters including redundancy, fault model, recovery time, and recovery strategy are characterized. Centralized recovery strategies for a given fault-tolerant loop network are presented and a...
متن کاملOutlier Detection in Wireless Sensor Networks Using Distributed Principal Component Analysis
Detecting anomalies is an important challenge for intrusion detection and fault diagnosis in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). To address the problem of outlier detection in wireless sensor networks, in this paper we present a PCA-based centralized approach and a DPCA-based distributed energy-efficient approach for detecting outliers in sensed data in a WSN. The outliers in sensed data can be ca...
متن کاملFault-Tolerance and Error Recovery in an Autonomous Robot with Distributed Controlled Components
Most of the existing autonomous robot systems have a centralized hierarchical control architecture. In such robot systems, all planning, execution control, and monitoring tasks are performed by a single control unit on a defined level. In case of an error that occurs during the execution, this central control unit has the complete knowledge about the past executed actions and is able to reason ...
متن کاملA New Fault Tolerant Nonlinear Model Predictive Controller Incorporating an UKF-Based Centralized Measurement Fusion Scheme
A new Fault Tolerant Controller (FTC) has been presented in this research by integrating a Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) mechanism in a nonlinear model predictive controller framework. The proposed FDD utilizes a Multi-Sensor Data Fusion (MSDF) methodology to enhance its reliability and estimation accuracy. An augmented state-vector model is developed to incorporate the occurred senso...
